      1-3. PLANNING

      1. Have the students look at the images. Ask them what words they know already and which ones they often use.
      2. Have the students do this activity by themselves.
      3. Pair the students and have them compare their categorizations and translate the words they don’t know.

      1. Read the words and expressions in the picture: do you know them? Do you use them?

      1. Now read the words in the cloud and sort them as follows.

      Words I know:

Words I don't know but understand:

      Words I don't know and don't understand:

      1. Compare your list to another classmate's. Together look up the words you don't know.

      EXTENDING

Ask your students to mention other Italian words they know, on the board write them to clarify the spelling and translate them for the class. It will help to expand their vocabulary.
