      LAYING THE GROUNDWORK

      This first contact section aims to introduce the linguistic content and themes of the Chapter through images, word cloud and simple activities.

      PROFICIENCY BENCHMARKS

      Students will familiarize with the vocabulary of the chapter and recognize adjectives and nouns associated especially to the semantic and lexical field and connected to emotions and descriptions of people’s personality.

      Students will familiarize with the vocabulary of the chapter and recognize adjectives and nouns associated especially to the semantic and lexical field and connected to emotions and descriptions of people’s personality.

      1. PLANNING

      Start by pointing at the picture and invite the students to describe the people
      they see. They know how to describe
      a person physically and probably they will be able to use adjective to describe the personality too. Then point at the words in the cloud and ask them to work on activity 1 following the instruction. Students have to work impair and use complete sentences (taking turns) to describe the persons.

        2. PLANNING

        Have the students work by themselves on this activity, give them a reasonable amount of time to check the meaning of the words they don’t know, then correct with the entire class.
