      DIVISIÓN

      La división se utiliza para repartir una cantidad en grupos iguales.
      Por ejemplo:

      Pedro Duque tiene 60.541 libros sobre el Universo y los quiere colocar todos en su nueva biblioteca. Si tiene 253 baldas en total, ¿cuántos libros podrá colocar en cada balda para que tengan todas la misma cantidad? ¿Cuántos libros le quedarán por colocar?

      Divido 60.541 : 253

       

       

      ¿ Te acuerdas de los pasos para resolver una división?

      El resultado es 239; Pedro Duque podrá colocar 239 libros en cada balda y le quedarán 74 libros por colocar.

      Recuerda:

      • Si el resto de una división es igual a cero diremos que la división es exacta. Si el resto es distinto de cero la división es entera.
      • Si una división el resto parcial es menor que el divisor, haremos lo siguiente: cero al cociente y se baja la cifra siguiente… y continuamos con la división.

      a) Si en una división exacta divido o multiplico el dividendo y el divisor por el mismo número, el cociente no varía y el resto sigue siendo cero.

      b) Si en una división entera divido o multiplico el dividendo y el divisor por el mismo número, el cociente no varía  pero el resto queda dividido o multiplicado por dicho número.

      PRUEBA DE LA DIVISIÓN

      Cuando quiero comprobar si una división está bien hecha, verifico que se cumple la propiedad fundamental de la división, y además que el resto es menor que el divisor.

       Dividendo (D) = divisor (d) x cociente (c) + resto (r)                  resto < divisor   

       

      Ejemplo:

      60.541 = 253 x 239 + 74

       60.541 =   60.467 + 74
                                         \ /
                60.541  =   60.541

      Conclusión: la división está bien hecha.
